Visitor Guidelines
GLWACH will allow visitors into the facility as indicated below:
Intensive Care Unit
24-hour visitation may be allowed in the ICU for Seriously Ill/Very Seriously Ill patients and other patients based on Charge Nurse discretion.
A maximum of two people may visit at a time.
Children/infants may visit at the discretion of the Charge Nurse.
At least one parent of a patient under the age of 18 in the ICU will stay at the bedside for the duration of the hospital stay.
Inpatient Behavioral Health
Visiting hours on the IBH unit are 5-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.
Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to visit without prior approval from the provider and must remain with their accompanying visitor at all times during the visit.
Maternal Child Unit
Labor/Delivery
A patient may have up to (2) two visitors in addition to the parent/co-parent on admission to MCU.
Doula’s will be counted towards the patient’s two (2) visitors.
Visitors must be identified at the beginning of the patient’s stay and will be the only visitors authorized to remain after visiting hours.
Immediate family members are the only visitors that can interchange throughout the patient’s labor to help prevent the spread of any communicable diseases.
No Visitors under the age of 18 are authorized on the unit while the patient is in labor.
Post delivery/Recovery
MCU’s visitation hours for any other guest aside from the 2 previously identified visitors will be 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Post delivery patient may have as many visitors as they want at the discretion of the patient and MBU staff. (maximum 4 at a time).
Visitors under the age of 18 are authorized only if they are siblings of the newborn and visiting children must be accompanied by a competent adult that is not the patient.
Medical Surge Unit
No more than two visitors per patient in a room at one time.
The patient’s condition may limit the number of visitors and length of visitation times as determined by the Charge Nurse.
Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and must remain under the supervision of an adult that is not the patient.
Note: Please be careful not to impede healthcare, display HIPAA information, or include patients or staff who have not consented to being filmed/photographed.
